1. Oub Kham Museum

The collection of the valuable heritages of the ancient Lanna Kingdom. Inside is full of rare artifacts, such as the Lanna Buddha image in Chiang Saen Art, not less than a hundred years old, lacquerware. Silverware, utensils that were used in Lanna court, and well-preserved clothes. The critical piece is the golden Royal Throne of King Tai, with beautiful construction and decoration over 200 years old. And it is the only piece in the world.

Open: Every day, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

 

2. Hong Luang Sang Kaew Museum

The 2-story Lanna-applied building is located in Wat Phra Kaew. Collecting arts, rare antiques, significant Buddha images, and original Lanna utensils are kept on the second floor. On the first floor is the Thai Lue's art exhibition area with paper Tung, openwork Tung, Silver, and golden Tung, hanging around for visitors to take photos.

3. Baan Dam Museum

The art lovers' destination is where you can experience the authentic Lanna. This is a group of Lanna houses, every house painted in black, the origin of the museum name. Inside, decorated with buffalo horns, antlers, animal skins, and carved wood, which is the collection of Ajarn Thawan Duchanee, a national artist.

4. Art Station (Khua Silpa)

An art space was created by a group of Chiang Rai artists to build an art gallery to exhibit and constantly promote art and culture. The word Khua in the northern language means bridge, so Khua Silpa means the bridge that connects artists with society. Moreover, there is also a restaurant, souvenir shops, and art school, including a revolving art exhibition area for senior artists, new generation artists, and national artists.

Location: Phahonyothin Road, Ban Du Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Rai
Open: Every day from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

 

5. Khum Doi Din Daeng

            For tourists who love ceramics and pottery, this place was founded by a Chiang Rai ceramic artist who created clay sculptures into renowned works of art. The highlight of this place is selecting local natural materials as ingredients. Visitors can learn every process of sculpting or buy them as souvenirs.

Open: 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Closed on Sundays)
